Preventive Medicine: Wellness care is tailored to your companion's needs. With regular, thorough physical exams and vaccinations appropriate to your pets' lifestyle, we can assist you in providing your pet the best possible care. In addition, periodic diagnostic blood testing can help identify problems so they can be treated early, or, if normal, provide comforting peace of mind.
Behavioral Counseling: We can provide advice regarding training and behavioral problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling, anxiety disorders and aggression. Referral to a behavior specialist is available if needed.
Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance. Our veterinarians also appreciate the value of health management for specific diseases through diet.

Permanent identification:
We offer HomeAgain microchip identification. 10 million pets get lost every year. Without ID, 90% don't return home. Over 94% of pets microchipped with HomeAgain have been reunited with their families.
Microchipping is a simple procedure that only requires a quick trip to the clinic. The microchip is implanted under the skin between the shoulder blades.
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pet's complete health care needs.
Senior Pet Care: Pets have many of the same medical conditions we have as we age. Regular lab testing is even more important in senior pets to prevent, detect, and monitor diseases they may develop. Older pets may be treated for liver and kidney diseases, diabetes, cataracts, arthritis, incontinence and dementia. When the time comes, hospice-type care can be provided for your pet's peace and comfort.
Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
Pharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products, and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet.
Specialty medications and flavored preparations may also be ordered for your pet through veterinary compounding pharmacies such as Pet Health Pharmacy.
Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures. Anesthesia is not "one size fits all" but is tailored to fit each individual animal.
Dentistry: Our dental services include ultrasonic teeth cleaning & polishing,tooth extractions and oral surgery.


Home dental care is a very important part of your pet's overall health.
Surgical Services: Our surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety
of surgical procedures.

Surgical specialists are available for orthopedic procedures when needed.
Dr. Robert Horne - board certified in surgery with
orthopedics as a specialty.

Cyro Surgery: Many skin lesions can be removed with little to no anesthesia. 

Pain Management: At Companion Animal Hospital, we are committed to ensuring that your pet experiences as little pain as possible. Pain management treatments that include: both injectable and oral, before surgery, during recovery and to go home. We will take every precaution to eliminate your pet's pain and stress from surgery and treatment procedures. "Pain is inevitable - suffering is not".
Micro-Temp Blanket: This pad, placed underneath your pet during surgery,
circulates warm water to ensure proper temperature is maintained during the procedure.
Radiology Services: Our on-site, high frequency X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.
Board certified radiologists are consulted as needed.


Electrocardiography Services: Our ECG and Pulse Oximetry equipment 
provides constant monitoring of your pet's vital signs and heart rate during surgery. Consulatations with cardiology specialists are also available.
Vaccinations: Disease prevention is one of the most important aspects of pet health care. Proper vaccination can spare your pets from such potentially deadly diseases as rabies, distemper and feline leukemia. Vaccine programs are based on and scheduled to each pets lifestyle and exposure risks.
Dermatology, Skin Problems & Allergies: Skin problems are commonly associated with allergies in dogs and cats, but may be also a sign of serious internal diseases such as hypothyroidism, cushings disease or cancer. Severe itching may be triggered by allergies or infection, but only by thorough examination and possibly testing such as fungal and bacterial cultures, skin scrapings for mites, allergy testing, microscopic exam, and biopsy can the cause be determined and properly treated.
Specialist Consults: We offer referrals to multiple specialists who help us with the diagnosis of more complicated cases. Dermatology, Opthalmology, Oncology, Neurology and Internal Medicine Specialists are just 30 miles away.
Individualized Flea Control Programs: We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet.
Boarding: We provide pet boarding as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Saturday.
Bathing: Routine and therapeutic bathing services are available.

Body Clips: Complete body clips are available.We do not have a groomer for cosmetic breed clips. However, we do shave downs for the summer or as needed medically.
Pet Loss: Losing a beloved companion is a painful experience. They give us all the love they have and then one day, unfortunately, they leave us. Sometimes we must make a difficult decision...
